Introduction to Long Range Shooting
Cost: $250
Course Length: 6-8 Hours
This class is for students who want to improve their rifle-shooting skills at longer ranges.
Students will learn the following (and more):
- Basics of Internal, External, and Terminal Ballistics
- Your bullet’s Ballistic Coefficient and what it means
- Proper rifle setup for maximum accuracy
- Scope usage
- Body positioning, grip, and trigger manipulation
- Creating D.O.P.E. (Data On Previous Engagement) for your ammo and firearm
- Creating a Range Card for your current setup
Long Range Shooting courses could last as long as a week to properly cover all aspects. So please keep in mind that this is an introductory course only. You will learn much, and leave better for your efforts, but it is still just the start of your training.
Students will shoot approximately 80 rounds of ammunition throughout the 6-8 hour class, during which instructors will demonstrate individual aspects of the skills taught. Instructors will work one-on-one with participants to ensure the training provided is both understood and appropriately applied, while maintaining a safe learning environment.
Students must provide their own weapons and ammunition.
We have students in every class who have never shot over 100 yards, and by the end of the day they are hitting steel at 600-700 yards
Equipment Requirements
- Functioning Rifle with Properly Functioning Scope / Raised Turrets
- 60 rounds of quality ammunition, same gr weight & manufacturer
- Eye and ear protection required
- Notepad and pen
- Technical Information about your ammunition
(muzzle velocity, grain weight, Ballistic Coefficient)
