Armed Church Security Team / Executive Protection Detail Shooting Course
This class is for those who are part of an armed Church Security Team or working on an armed Executive Protection Detail. If you carry a firearm to protect others, understanding how to properly react when the moment comes is mandatory.
Course Description
Threat discrimination, movement, weapons flow, engagement, and after-action protocols are needed and must be understood by every member of your team. This is NOT a “how to” on Executive Protection and or Church Security class, rather this is a class teaching you how to shoot in that environment if necessary. You & your team need your own protocols for EP and CS work.
Students will work on threat-based shooting in a crowded/cluttered environment, from a concealed carry format. Drills will be designed to mimic moving through and then shooting a threat in the middle of a crowd of people. This will require participants to close the distance and guarantee hits on target and avoid any “friendly fire”. Some of the drills building up to the close proximity shooting will be one-handed shooting, moving off of the X, multiple targets, and fully clothed 3D body targets to create realism. Shooting from behind cover and from the ground at a point of disadvantage will also be taught. This is an Advanced course for a reason.
Participants will shoot approximately 300 rounds of ammunition during the 4-hour class. The instructors will demonstrate individual aspects of the skills taught. Instructors will work individually with the participants to ensure that the skills taught are being understood and applied properly while ensuring safety measures are in place. Students need to have a good working knowledge of their pistol and have completed the Advanced Pistol class or prove their ability prior to class. Instructors will reinforce the 5 basic tenants of Firearms Safety before delving into the shooting portion of the class. Drills will teach students how to draw their firearm from a concealed placement on their person. Safe drawing from concealment is paramount.
