Level 1: Intro to Pistol

Instructor Cate coaches a student during a pistol course.

Cost: $125

Course Length: 2.5 Hours

This class is for those who have little to no working knowledge of firearms and/or how to shoot them properly. This class will teach students who have never fired a gun how to properly (and safely) handle a pistol.  The first hour is classroom only.

Students will learn the “5 Basic Tenants of Firearms Safety,” the parts of a firearm, the nomenclature of a pistol, how to load a magazine, and — most importantly — what happens internally when you pull the trigger. Even individuals with no plans to ever own or carry a pistol can still learn how to safely handle a firearm. Some people take this class simply because a member of their family owns firearms and has them in their home.

Students will shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during the 2.5-hour class, during which an overabundance of instruction will keep things running safely. If students do not have a pistol, arrangements can be made to get a loaner for the course. Additionally, students DO NOT need a holster.

Please let the instructor know ahead of time what pistol you will bring to the class (or if you need one provided).
